SKUAST-K Brainstorming session concludes on a good note

Education Quill Weekly Education News Paper :In the distinguished presence of Chief Patrons Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, Vice Chancellor SKUAST-K, and Prof. M. A. A. Siddique, Director of Education at SKUAST-K, the transformative agricultural education event held on Dec 28, 2023, gained added prominence. Prof. Shabir A. Wani, the Dean of the Faculty of Horticulture at SKUAST-K, enriched the discussions with insights into reshaping school curriculums.

Organized under the able guidance of Organizing Secretary Dr. Ajaz Ahmed Malik and esteemed faculty members, including Dr. Shahnaz Mufti, Dr. K. Hussain, Dr. Faheema Mushtaq, Dr. M. I. Makdoomi, Dr. Sumati Narayan, Dr. Geetika Malik, and Dr. Baseerat Afroza, the event garnered momentum. Dr. Azmat Alam Khan, Associate Director of Research and OSD to VC, and Prof. Haroon R. Naik, Director of Research at SKUAST-K, played pivotal roles as Patrons.

The Convener team, led by Dr. Ummyiah Masoodi and Dr. Gazala Nazir, along with Dr. Asima Amin and Dr. Syed Berjes Zehra, served as Coordinators. Mr. Mehraj ud Din Shah, STA at AICRP (VC), added his expertise as the Co-Organizing Secretary.

This collaborative effort showcased the commitment of SKUAST-K’s academic community to propel agricultural education into the forefront of early learning, ensuring a sustainable and enlightened future for the region.

The launched “Farm-To-School: Catch Them Young” program marks a pioneering step, emphasizing hands-on learning experiences. Dr. G N Var, President of the Private School Association Kashmir, shared valuable insights on seamlessly incorporating Agricultural Education.

The event showcased SKUAST-K’s commitment to educational upliftment in Kashmir, with dignitaries providing a glimpse into SKUAST-K’s initiatives.
